The genius's at Disney's Pixar have done it again, taken the top spot for this weekend's movie listings by pulling in $47.2 million for its newest film, 'Ratatouille.' All-in-all, a very fine debut indeed.
I have yet to see this movie, but I have seen the trailer at Apple's Quicktime site. From the trailer, its easy to see why this charming family film about the tale of Remy, a rat who dreams of being becoming a great French chef, would take the top spot. The characters and the sheer beauty of this film is absolutely wonderful.
Brad Bird, who both directed and wrote the script, created what JANE HORWITZ of THE WASHINGTON POST called, "... a ground breaking gorgeous computer-animated film." I agree and plan to watch the 1 hour and 50 minute film the first chance I get.
Its really nice to see family based films like Ratatouille beating out films like the latest Bruce Willis hit, 'Live Free or Die Hard.'
Ratatouille is voiced by: Patton Oswalt, Ian Holm, Lou Romano, Brian Dennehy, Peter Sohn, Peter O'Toole, Brad Garrett, Janeane Garofalo and is a great movie for any child, or anybody who is a child at heart, to see.
And that's my 2 cents on this animated movie masterpiece for the 4th. of July, 2007.
