Cool Snow Leopard Surprises!
There are rumors circulating that Apple could be releasing Snow Leopard early, as on this very 28th of August! Originally, Apple touted that it would set it's next big cat free to prowl sometime in September, without setting any firm day, or time.
John Gruber, who writes the very popular blog, Daring Fireball , and who also happens to have one of the best records when it comes to these type of things, says in a very brief post:
"What I’m hearing is that it went GM last Friday and could be on sale by Friday August 28."
Wow, that would be a surprise indeed, if true.
However, even though there are some analysts who believe otherwise, there are also some analysts who believe that this might actually be the case, as ComputerWorld reports:
"Why not ship early if you can? It feels good and looks good [for Apple]," said Ezra Gottheil of Technology Business Research Inc. "
Personally, as long as it arrives and soon, I don't really care if it's a little too early, or a little too late! As long as it eventually gets here and lives up to it's promise to be one hell-of-a-lot more secure, stable and faster! Who cares if an OS as a million gee-whiz, bang tooting features, if none of them work as advertise, or if they are slow and buggy as hell?
Not me, for one!
One other surprise that I really do like, however, is that fact that Apple has decided to change, at the last minute, the graphic art for the Snow Leopard install disc, from that of a space-like theme, to the more simple, but ever so cool and downright beautiful graphic that GearLive reported on, and as seen above.
Ahh... isn't dat one bee-u-2-full looking pussy cat?
Yuppers, she's a beauty alright, and if the innards of the Snow Leopard disc performs anywhere near as good as it looks from the outside of the disc, then I'll be one very happy camper indeed, whenever Snow Leopard decides to pounce.
And that's my 2 cents 4 this Friday, August 13, 2009
