Get A Grip On Your iPad With Help From ColorWare

If you have an iPad and lots of money to burn, then do I have the thing for you, it's called "The Grip"by ColorWare.

Yes, the Grip is sexy, convenient, practical, stylish and just about as cool as you can get, and I bet your going to love it to death, but I also bet that your probably not going to buy it either. That's because this little baby also has a very, very big price tag to go along with it, like a whopping ........ $300!

As you can see from the illustrations above, via ColorWare's site and Engadget, the iPad Grip is one sexy piece of kit, and it's made of the finest aircraft quality aluminum that you can buy, and features a handy and dandy little handle, that allows you to conveniently carry or hold your precious iPad in a firm and safe grip-like fashion, in any position, and virtually anywhere.

Above you can see the Grip's installation instruction video which is quick and simple. However, all I'll say, in conclusion, about this great product is that I think I can find lots of better uses for my $300. Don't get me wrong, ColorWare's iPad Grip is an absolutely beautiful product, but unfortunately, it just also happens to carry a very ugly and ridiculous price to go along with it, thus making it a little too expensive or practical for most people, including poor little old me. Priced lower, around $75 to $100, the Grip could be a winner.

Until Tomorrow And My Next Tech Post ......

Once again, I'm totally strapped with far too little time to do my regular techie post, so once again I am presenting another one of my favorite singers from that favorite place of mine, the great nation of Germany. This time it's the great Roland Kaiser singing Dich zu Liebens above and a mix of his greatest hits from the past below.

So, in conclusion, until Friday and, hopefully, my next tech post, I hope you enjoy these great German hits from the past from one of my all time favorite male German singers, Roland Kaiser.

Hacking: Google's Chrome OS Running On Apple's...... iPad!

Just as Dell announced that it will be actually selling a real, and honest-to-goodness, 7 inch tablet in a few weeks, and even larger tablets in the next 6 to 12 months, one enterprising fellow in the U.K. tweeted that he had already hacked Apple's sexy new iPad into running a version of Google's upcoming Chrome OS, as you can see from his photo and directly from his site Hexxeh.

Unfortunately, there isn't much info provided, and sadly for those who might be interested in possibly doing the same, well this clever hacker not only promises to reveal more, but also adds that "You can't use it as a normal iPad without a restore sadly though."

Bummer! Would be lovely, really lovely if you could sort of have a "Boot Camp" like setup, and one where you could easily switch back and forth between OS's as desired.

According to Gizmodo, this clever fellow already has a proven track record when it comes to Chromium OS builds, so this may be the real deal folks, but until more information comes forth we really don't know too much about this hack, but, hopefully, we will soon.

In conclusion, hacking may be fun for some, but it can also be rather tricky venture, and, to be quite honest, a little on the risky and dangerous side to boot. However, the really big question is why on earth anyone would in their right mind really want to mess around with their sexy and very expensive iPad in the first place? Why, in bloody blazes, would anyone actually want to replace the iPad's great and proven OS that was specifically designed and tailored for it, and all for a very limited and unproven OS that has yet to be even officially released?

The Tablet Market Heats Up With The BlackBerry PlayBook

Another day, another tablet!

Yes sir, and just as expected, now that Apple has entered the tablet market, the Apple copy cats have been starting to come out in droves, with the latest coming from the giant from the great white north RIM and their spanking new business tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook, that was just announced yesterday and seen in the YouTube video above.

Spec wise, well it's a pretty dang impressive tablet, and even more so than the iPad already is in several key areas such as its 1 GB of RAM, which is some four bloody times that of the iPad. As you can see from AppleInsider's coverage yesterday, the juicy specs are as follows:

  • 7-inch LCD, 1024 x 600, WSVGA, capacitive touch screen with full multi-touch and gesture support
  • BlackBerry Tablet OS with support for symmetric multiprocessing
  • 1 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Dual HD cameras (3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing), supports 1080p HD video recording
  • Video playback: 1080p HD Video, H.264, MPEG, DivX, WMV
  • Audio playback: MP3, AAC, WMA
  • HDMI video output
  • Wi-Fi - 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • Connectors: microHDMI, microUSB, charging contacts
  • Open, flexible application platform with support for WebKit/HTML-5, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Adobe Mobile AIR, Adobe Reader, POSIX, OpenGL, Java
  • Ultra thin and portable:
    • Measures 5.1”x7.6”x0.4” (130mm x 193mm x 10mm)
    • Weighs less than a pound (approximately 0.9 lb or 400g)
  • Additional features and specifications of the BlackBerry PlayBook will be shared on or before the date this product is launched in retail outlets.
  • RIM intends to also offer 3G and 4G models in the future.

Again, these are pretty impressive specs for a tablet that won't see the light of day until early next year. These specs were specifically designed to make the PlayBook the standard for business tablets. As far as a business tablet goes, I would have thought that "WorkBook" would have been a better choice of a name than "PlayBook", but then again, what-in-hell do I know?

RIM is boasting that its new BlackBerry OS based tablet for the suits will be great and all, but one thing that they where completely silent about was the battery life and the PlayBook's price, which, to me, suggests that it's probably not that great.

As I stated yesterday, you can now expect to see a virtual flood of these new tablets over the coming next year, and all thanks, in very large part, to the enormous success of the iPad. Besides the new PlayBook, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Sharp Galapagos, Dell Streak , etc., there is also the recently announced Kno tablet texbook, seen below, but expect more, a lot more.

So, how will these growing legions of tablets effect their inspiration, the iPad; can they beat it at its own game?

No way, thank-you-very-much! At least not for the next little while according to some analysts, such as Canacccord Genuity's T. Michael Walkley. According to Mr. Walkley, he is quoted, from a recent Fortune post, as saying:

"Given the iPad's time-to-market advantage, superior user interface, and leading application ecosystem," he writes, "we believe Apple will maintain both market share and value share leadership in 2010 and 2011 for this new product category.

"Based on leading content for its iPad device, we believe demand for iPads will likely remain ahead of Apple's ability to supply iPads in [the second half of 2010]. Should iPad production continue to ramp, we believe our 13.4M estimate for 2010 and 25.5M estimate for 2011 could prove conservative."

In fact, Fortune's post also states that Apple could even outsell its nearest rivals by a whopping 4 to 1 in 2011, as Android tablets "Struggle" to get a foot hold.

Well, in conclusion, I don't think that anybody really knows what exactly will happen as the competition heats up, but one thing is certain: expect to see the market flooded come this time next year, and that's a guarantee!

The Latest iPad Looking Device: The Sharp Galapago

The iPad is not only top in its field for consumer satisfaction, but according to a report from last week, the American Customer satisfaction Index has listed it has having the highest satisfaction index that it has ever tracked, for any device... period!. No wonder why everyone else, in tech land, is rushing, like mad, to come out with their own iPad like tablet.

One of the latest is Sharp, with their Galapagos e-reading tablets. These new iPad like-looking devices come in two sizes: a baby 5.5 incher, and a 10.8 bigger grown-up version. Along with Sharp's new tablets, it will also be rolling out its own version of Apple's e-book store come this December.

Of course, these are basically designed to be used as reading tablets, and therefore they might be more of an threat to the likes of a Kindle or other e-book reader than to an all-in-one tablet like the iPad itself. As you can see in the above photo, via Engadget, via Sharp, the five-inchers look more like that of an iPhone, while the larger tablet resembles looks more like that of an iPad.

Since I don't have access to either of these 'sharp' looking Sharp devices, I'll have to limit myself to simply saying that they at least look rather sexy, but whether or not they'll be of the type of quality or ease of use that has made the iPad the most satisfying electronic gizmo like .... well, since forever, that I can't say.

However, I will say, in conclusion, that from this point on, the tablet race is on baby! This will be primarily a race to unseat the current king-of-the-hill tablet, and the most satisfying device ever tracked, the iPad.

The Samsung Galaxy Is Cool, But Is It Cool Enough To Take On The iPad?

Yesterday, Gizmodo posted the above video of the new Android powered Samsung Galaxy tablet. they descried it as being hot in action, but to me it looks an awfully like an iPad, but without all of the tens of thousands of iPad applications, of course.

The video shows the Galaxy tablet being used with an Apple like Blue-Tooth keyboard, but, unlike the iPad itself, the galaxy also incorporates telephony features, complete with the need for an expensive contract. So is it an over sized smart phone or a small tablet?

To me, anyway, it looks like a blatant iPad clone, and much like all of the Android phones before it, it basically seems to copy pretty much everything from Apple's designs. No doubt, however, Samsung and other tablet makers will be blowing their horns on what they supposedly have that the iPad doesn't, like built-in cameras, etc.

So, as cool and iPad looking as the Samsung Galaxy Tab appears to be, is it and others upcoming tablets good enough to topple the iPad? That remains to be seen, of course, but Android has been making huge gains against the iPhone, and thus many are predicting that Android based tablets will do likewise, but that's not guaranteed.

Unfortunately, it's mostly smoke and mirrors as far as I'm concerned. Apple's proxy suit against Android, via HTC, which many are predicting Apple will win, could certainly clip Android's wings big time, and might even possibly give it a death blow. No wonder Google, as some are reporting, is hiring a phalanx of lawyers to deal with, what they perceive, is Apple's so-called aggression!

Of course, there's always Oracle's suit as well, which could also provide another very real death blow to Android based phones and tablets. Then there is also the very real prospect of Apple's AT&T exclusivity coming to an end soon, it could also eliminate Android's biggest and only real advantage over that of the iPhone, namely, it's not limited to any one carrier as the iPhone is now.

As fine-and-dandy as the Samsung and other tablets might first appear, there are some very real threats posed to them ever overtaking the iPad. For one, Apple won't be standing still, and you can bet your last pair of candy-colored bloomers on that one. Apple is already reported to be testing new iPads, possibly even including a seven inch version, as well as newer models that will include cameras and certainly even more powerful hardware and iOS software. According to a recent Yahoo news report, one thing in the iPad's favor is that it interestingly could end up being the better priced tablet of them all, at least according to this article: Apple iPad: The Low-Price Leader? - Yahoo! News

So, even though I must admit that the iPad looking and iPad functioning like Samsung Galaxy Tab seems to be a really cool tablet, the question remains: is it really cool enough to really take on the iPad?

Maybe, but I also think that if anyone thinks that Android or Windows based tablets are just going to simply walk in and knock off the iPad, as some people might like to think, they may have another thing coming. The iPad has a lot going for it besides being the first real tablet out of the gate. For one, its lead means that it already has more software and accessories going for it, something that will be hard for other to catch up with. Not only that, as big as Google, Microsoft and other might be, people should remember that the iPad is powered by the second largest company in the world, a company with more money in the bank and other resources than most other companies could even wish for, Microsoft and Google included.

Trust me, in conclusion, this powerhouse isn't exactly going to be easy to take on, nor will it simply lay down and die without a fight like its competition might wish!

Until Tomorrow .......

Unfortunately, this is another one of those times that I simply don't have time to do one of my regular tech post, so as before, I shall feature some more great German Schlager, or German hits.

This time, as seen above, it's "a medley of lively songs by one of my favorites German singers: Tobias Thies. These include his hits Madchen Madchen and Lady among others. I've purchase these on iTunes where I have them listed among my favorites. Of the two, I especially love "Lady", which you can also listen to in its entirety here, and "Madchen Madchen" which you can also listen in its entirety here.

So, until tomorrow and my next regular tech post, enjoy!

Is Apple About To Soon Release Millions Of CDMA Verizon's iPhones?

If recent reports are correct, Apple is about to shortly start building a massive 3 million plus CDMA iPhones for Verizon as early as this December! This is based on contacts within the company's overseas supply chain.

Susquehanna Financial Group's analyst, Jeffery Fidacaro, for instance, noted to investors that recent checks with Apple's suppliers show that the Cupertino giant is preparing a massive build order for CDMA phones, which, if true, could allow the company to bring the iPhone to Verizon as early as the first quarter of 2011, and, hopefully, as early as January.

Mr. Fidacaro expects that this, among other developments, should greatly aid Apple's 4FY10 results, and all I will say is that it's about bloody well time! Android has been eating the iPhone's lunch, and one of the biggest reasons for this is simply that the iPhone is currently locked into its exclusivity contract with AT&T, which limits, in the process, the potential for people wanting the iPhone, but refusing to switch to AT&T in order to get one. Some believe that this could result in AT&T's losing up to a whopping 23%, or some 1.4 million of AT&T's current iPhone users! For AT&T, now that has got to hurt.

In conclusion, as many people have already observed, including little old me, that Apple's exclusivity with AT&T has probably been one of the biggest hurdles, if not the biggest, against the iPhone's gaining even more traction in the market place that it already has. The removal of this self-imposed obstacle can't come as soon or as fast enough as far as I'm concerned, and I'm eagerly looking forward to its end, and the resulting spike in millions and millions of new iPhone owners as a direct result.

Site-4-The-Day: PadGadget

PadGadget is a great new web site and one dedicated to all things iPad, and it's my site-4-the-day. This great iPad centric site features all of the information that you could possibly wish to know, covering iPad news, app reviews, including other gear reviews, tech tips, app tracking and more, much more.

Just some of their recent and informational posts, for example, include the following:

Airport Mania: First Flight HD for iPad – App Review

Ruler 2 for iPad – First Look

Google Docs Adding iPad Support

More Rumors – A Small iPad with 2 Cameras, among many, many others.

Personally, even though I don't have an iPad yet, because I'm still looking and waiting for the next version which is expected sometime soon, that won't keep me from reading PadGadget today. That's because I believe that if anyone is going to do a great job covering anything about the iPad, and that includes the next version, which is expected to include both built-in cameras and a companion 7 inch version as well, no one is going to do it better than a dedicated site such as PadGadget.

In conclusion, besides my usual sources for Apple info, I'm now gladly also adding PadGadget to my my list of daily reading as this dedicated iPad site is definitely one of the better sites out there for anything and everything to do with the new and exciting world of the iPad.

The Future Is Here: Spray-On Clothes!

Last Thursday evening I read an interesting post from Wired Gadget Labs, and, yes, as seen in the above video, scientists have developed clothes that come out of a spray-can!

All you need to do is spray-on your next t-shirt, scarf or what have you? The spray-on clothes go on wet, come out dry and are totally reusable and washable to boot!

Wow, this new technology (Fabrican) is something that seemingly comes straight out of the future, but, unfortunately, even though the idea is so cool that it could have come out of Germany or Japan, the resulting spray on clothes look more like they came straight out of the Dear Leader's North Korea. They look rather ragged, tattered and something that one would have pulled out of a garbage can rather than that of a spray can, as you can also see from from Gadget Lab's photo below:

In conclusion, even though I'm not much of a fashion expert myself, since I dress pretty much in clothes that look almost as tattered and as worned as the spray-on ones, but, thank-you-very-much, I think I'll just continue to buy my clothes from Sears, K-Mart, Wal-Mart or Karstadt, etc., than from out of a spray can!

iPad Cannibalizes Laptop Sales And Other Interesting Apple News

There are seemingly billions, trillions and gazillions of posts posted every day about Apple, the world's most influential and most valuable tech company, but there are three that I found particularly interesting of late.

The first one concerns the growing and rapid rise in the popularity of the iPad. Why, I remember, from the very get go, how people were downplaying, and yes even laughing at the iPad after it was first announced. They said that it was underpowered, didn't have a keyboard, or a full OS , etc., etc., and they all pretty much predicted that it would ultimately be put out of its misery by Google, Microsoft, Dell, Acer, HP and others, who, naturally, all knew how to do what Apple couldn't... build a real tablet.

Well......their not laughing now, that's for dang tooting sure!

With the iPad selling as much as two or more million units each month, all of the nay sayers, complainers and whiners out there have pretty much faded into the background as the iPad just keeps rolling along, racking up record sales and garnering heaps of praise and the envy of the entire industry as it struggles to rush out with their own copy-cat iPad wannabe's!

For proof on how just how successful Apple's latest gadget has become, well you need look no farther than one of the world's biggest electronic merchandizers, Best Buy. Its CEO, Mr. Brian Dun, recently noted that the iPad incredible success has not only been cannibalizing sales of net books, but also laptops as well, and that by a shocking 50%!

No wonder all of those doom sayers and iPad critics out there have been suddenly keeping their their big, fat mouths shut! Mr. Dun's recent statement has completely exposed their earlier rants for what they where..... utter and total foolishness, and as Gizmodo recently pointed out, this is bad news indeed for the likes of Dell, Acer, HP and, of course,Microsoft, all of whom will be trying desperately to distinguish themselves as they copy and try and kill off the iPad!

Speaking of good old Gizmodo, or as I simply prefer to call them - the Giz, they also have an interesting post today on something that I find personally rather useful. It's an environmentally friendly wooden tray, one that conveniently houses all of your wireless Apple peripherals, such as your keyboard, remote and new wireless Magic TrackPad altogether in one convenient unit! This was something that I originally thought that Apple would have come out with, but didn't. Its goes for up to $79.... ouch, but is something that I personally think would be worth it, at least for little old me. This cool little unit, if your interested, comes from Combine Collective.

Another interesting related Apple story comes from Tech100, namely T3's list of the 100 top people in all of tech. In third place is, Google's Eric Schmidt, Larry Page and Sergey Brin; in second place, good old Microsoft's Steve Ballmer, and yes, you got it... Apple's good old Steve Jobs comes, once again, (and rightfully so) at number one, as the top doggie of all of the tech world's top techies! Speaking of Jobs, they state:

"All of this comes from Jobs. He embodies Apple and he propels it forward. He understands what consumers want, even when they don’t. He is the instigator and the first true genius of the “tech lifestyle”.

In conclusion, these are just three recent and interesting Apple related posts. There are many more, too many to mention let alone list, and tomorrow there will be just as many new ones. I can't wait!

The First Tablet That You Can Buy Running Windows 7 Is: The iPad!

Hey, if your hankering for one of the very first new Windows 7 tablets that you can buy, but you don't want to wait forever to get your mittens on one, well here's some good news: you can buy one now, as in this very minute and its....... from Apple!

Yes, believe it or not, thanks to the fine folks that bring you Parallels Desktop 6 for the Mac, the iPad is now one of the very first Windows 7 tablets that you can buy anywhere. Mind you, in order to run Windows 7 on your iPad you'll also need either a desktop or laptop Mac, a registered copy of Paralells Desktop and their additional free software package called Paralells Mobile.

Paralells Mobile allows you to run, stream and control Windows 7 running on your Mac, directly to your iPad, giving you all of the convenience and benefits of a Windows 7 desktop, but with all of the added convenience that a tablet brings. Paralells Mobile allows you to run Windows 7 (or other OS, even Google's Chrome as you can see here!) on your iPad despite the tablet's minimal hardware requirements.

As you can see from Chris Pirillo's video demonstration, at the beginning of this post, this is a dang-tooting and bloody cool thing! Imagine being able to run Windows 7, and run it fast, with all of the benefits of the small, multi-touch goodness that is the iPad!

Cool...... damn cool, I say!

This is also a very sneaky way of running Flash on your iPad as well! No fuss, no hassles, just plain unadulterated Windows or Linux distro running conveniently and bloody-well fast on your very own iPad. As you can also see, it runs not only fast, but it runs extremely well with little or no downside at all that I can see.

In conclusion, it's rather strange that you can run Window 7, but you can't actually run a full-blown virtual copy of OS X directly, but still, just having the ability to run another full-blown OS such as Windows 7, and all with minimal hardware requirements, other than having another Mac, certainly adds a lot of extra value to your iPad. It's almost like having two tablets in one...... the iPad and an additional Windows 7 tablet thrown in as a bonus, which, as far as this old bloke is concerned, is very, very, very cool anyway in which you wish to slice it!

The iPhone 4 vs The iPod Touch: A Video Comparison

The iPod Touch is basically an iPhone without the telephony, but apart from that particular missing feature, just how do the similarly looking devices actually compare? Well, that's what Letemsvetemapplem.eu wanted to know, and as you can see from their videos, above and below, there are definitely some differences.

Even though they might both appear to be identical at first glance, a closer examination reveals differences, such as their physical sizes, with the iPod Touch being dramatically slimmer than its already slim and more expensive big brother, the iPhone 4.

Below, you can see the difference between the iPhone and the Touch's video recording abilities, and even though both feature a Retina Display, the iPhone 4 features somewhat better quality because its displays uses IPS technology, which boasts vastly better viewing angles.

As this speed boot test also clearly shows, neither device can hold a candle to that of the iPad when it comes to startup times, with the latter device easily trouncing both the Touch and the iPhone.

Even though it doesn't have the slimmest form factor, the iPhone 4 nonetheless offers far better overall specs, and particularly when it comes to its display and camera functions. Of course, the iPhone is a more expensive device overall and that goes especially when considering that it also requires an even more expensive subscription contract to go along with it. This makes me think of the iPhone 4 as being more of an adult device and the iPod Touch as being more of a device aimed specifically at children, or namely teenagers, who actually comprise the majority of Touch users, or some 70 percent.

All-in-all, in conclusion, both devices are top-notch devices that to many are clearly the top in their respected categories. Clearly, however, the iPhone 4 and the new Touch are not quite the same as first glance might seem to indicate, but either way, you can't really go wrong with either one.

Amazon Copies Apple's "Get A Mac" Plot Line To Mock The iPad.

Amazon's newest Kindle ad, as seen above, shows a very sexy and cool looking woman as she easily reads her Kindle in the bright outdoor sunlight, while next to her a plain and ordinary looking man struggles to do the same on what appears to be his iPad.

I'm not knocking the Kindle, or, for that matter, the ad itself, because its really a great e-book reader and a rather well done ad, but I'm somewhat amused over the fact that Amazon will probably get away with bashing the iPad and Apple without receiving much criticism for doing so. On the other hand, when Apple ran their highly successful "Get A Mac" ads, however, it seemed that every one and their dog, along with their baby kittens thrown in, got away with bashing Apple for doing the same. Not so for Amazon or anyone else who might wish to bash Apple though!

What's even more amusing, to me anyway, is that people will probably buy into this ad lock-stock-and-barrel, without any thinking or questioning at all. They'll just assume, from this ad, as people usually do, that the Kindle is a better and more superior solution overall than that of the iPad.

Hogwash I say!

First of all, even though the Kindle may indeed be a better device for reading in the bright outdoors, I could easily do a similar ad arguing how much easier and superior the iPad is over that of the Kindle when reading in dark or dimly lit surroundings, including of course, the great outdoors on those dark and overcast days, and, not to mention, in some darkly lit interior, like in bed at night!

I could also point out that the iPad can do so much more, like a hell-of-a-lot-more, than a device that was basically designed for nothing more than simply reading. The iPad, for starters, is certainly a lot more colorful than the black-&-white Kindle. Its also a lot more playful, since unlike the Kindle it was designed from the get go to play tons and tons of high quality games, which, by the way, it has in spades.

The iPad is also a lot more informative and flexible, since it can also connect to the internet and display the full web in all its glory (Flash excepted) and, as well,in addition, run a ton of various other apps of every size and description that the Kindle can't and probably never will be able to do, at least not anywhere near as well as the iPad can and does now.

Of course, as Geoffrey A. Fowler, of the Wall Street Journal's Digits, points out, Amazon's ad doesn't come out and directly state that the tablet in question is that of the iPad itself, but considering that the iPad is the only mass selling tablet out there, at the moment, at least that I know of anyway, it's pretty dang-tooting implied.

In conclusion, both the iPad and Kindle are great devices, as is their respect companies. I'm not blaming Amazon for taking a swipe at the iPad or Apple itself either, but I'm questioning how many people will simply buy into this ad, like so many others, without ever thinking or questioning it at all.

And that's my 2 cents 4 this Tuesday, September 14, 2010

PS. If Amazon ever decides to throw in that girl (she's hot) .... then I'm ordering a dozen immediately!

The World's Most Valuable Company: Apple?

Apple is already the world's most valuable tech company, but now some are speculating that the Cupertino giant is about to go even further and become the world's most valuable company of any stripe or type period! And yes, that includes even the world's current two biggest, Exxon and China Petrol.

Apple, by the way, is already the third most valuable company worldwide after the above, and according to a recent Motley Fool, MSNBC article they are predicting that you can bet on it supplanting both of those petroleum giants in the not too distant future as well!

Eric Bleeker, the author of the post, gives four primary reasons on why he believes it's a sure bet that indeed Apple is about to shortly become the biggest and most valuable company of them all, listing them as being:

1. Software is the new kingmaker

2. iOS scales

3. Consumer behavior on its side

4. Underrated smartphone growth

You can read his in-depth explanation of the above four points here.

Of course, not everyone believes this will be the case, but for the most part, I think that Mr. Bleeker could very well be correct in his assessment of Apple's future value. Those who caution Apple's value include Fortune's Scott Cendrowski who believe that one of the biggest threats to Apple' value is that it, "now it faces a nemesis that can paralyze any stock: the tyranny of high expectations."

So, could Apple really become the world's most valuable company ?

Absolutely, it's certainly doable and even most likely, but it's not exactly guaranteed either.

In conclusion, I have to agree, in parts, with both Mr. Bleeker and Mr. Cendrowski' assessments, but only time will tell who's assessment will win out. However, considering Apple's incredible track record thus far, Apple could, and most likely even will, indeed become the world's most valuable company soon. This is especially true considering that one of Apple's biggest threats, namely that of the seemingly unstoppable Android platform, has many problems facing it, such as the fragmentation caused by the fierce competition among its many partners, and all of which could easily help aide Apple in maintaining and surpassing its current astronomical value.

The iPod Nano Watch Is Here Already!

Before Apple even held its recent music event to unveil its latest iPods, I was hoping that they would come out with a new iPod that doubled as a watch.

Even though Apple didn't exactly come out with an iPod watch directly, they kind of indirectly did!

Yes, thanks to some entrepreneurial minds out there, you can now have your very own iPod watch as you can see in the opening photo and the one below. Yes, you can now buy your very own inexpensive iPod wrist strap that will instantly convert your shiny and tiny new iPod Nano into a giant and very stylish iPod watch as on this particular Product page, and from iLoveHandles, a page which as of this writing doesn't seem to be loading at the moment.

In conclusion, all-in-all, even though I would have prefered that Apple directly came out with their own very iPod watch, and ones looking a little more like the mock-ups in my previous post, these accessories are nonetheless pretty spiffy looking and with a low prices ranging from between $17 to $20, I can even see myself sporting my very own oversized, but very lovely iPod Nano watch on my big, fat, hairy arms myself!

And that's my 2 cents 4 this Friday, September 10, 2010
