iOS Gaming Peripherals: The 60Beat GamePad
I'm not a gamer, but after watching the demo above I'm almost tempted to become one!
The video demo is of 60Beats new GamePad for iOS devices. It's a gaming joystick, or gaming controller, that simply attach's to the headphone jack of any iPod, iPhone and iPad, and thus giving iOS devices all of the abilities of regular game controllers, such as those found on the XBox, Sony PlayStation, or a Nintendo gaming device, etc.
Unfortunately, it only comes with two bloody games at the moment, but they are promising a lot more to come in the new year, and, hopefully, they will alos include many of the bigger gaming titles.
Another unfortunate aspect, of this otherwise cool accessory, is that it's rather pricey, like $50 pricey....... ouch!
In conclusion, this thing, to me anyway, looks positively neato and it appears to work just as neato. I don't know about you, but I can really see something like this catching on, and especially if they can drop the dang price a wee bit, and if they can quickly add more games.
And that's my 2 cents 4 this Thursday, December 29, 2011
